Buying a new bicycle

I use my bike for commuting but I like to ride fast while commuting, (with precaution of course). I have test ride several bikes and I am getting to the conclusion that what I want is a road bike. I try three of the road bikes that are between my budget range:

I tested the Jamis Ventura Sport ( http://jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/road/ventura/10_venturasport.html)

 I also try the Giand Rapid 3 ( http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/rapid.3/3875/36257/ )

Also  the Giant Defy 3 ( http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/defy.3/3882/37101/ )


 I am very interested about the  2010 Motobecane Fantom CX (http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/fantom_cross_cx3.htm) because a different of the other ones, this one have brakes in two parts of the handlebars meaning that I can use both positions and still be safe. Also the bike itself seems cheaper than the other ones base in the components.

My question is: is the 2010 Motobecane Fantom CX a good option between this price range? I am confuse between the 2010 Motobecane Fantom CX  and the Ventura Sport. I actually liked the Giant Defy 3 but is not between my budget range.

Any feedback?
